Policy: Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents
All BESPOKE COLOMBIA SAS Lodging and Accommodation Establishments are deeply committed to the comprehensive protection of the rights of children and adolescents and participate in the project for the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESCNNA). For this reason, we adopted a code of conduct with The Code, through the Renacer Foundation, and we joined the strategy The Wall Is Me!, a city project, protector of children and adolescents, which invites all people to build safe environments to prevent and confront CSEC.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The commitments contained in this Code of Conduct have been adopted by our company in compliance with the provisions of Article 1 of Law 1336 of 2009, by which the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism mandates the adoption and compliance with a code of conduct by all tourism service providers in the Republic of Colombia. The commitments acquired by BESPOKE COLOMBIA SAS in this Code of Conduct are:
The commitments contained in this Code of Conduct have been adopted by our company in compliance with the provisions of Article 1 of Law 1336 of 2009, by which the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism mandates the adoption and compliance with a code of conduct by all tourism service providers in the Republic of Colombia. The commitments acquired by BESPOKE COLOMBIA SAS in this Code of Conduct are:
- We refrain from offering, either explicitly or surreptitiously, plans for the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism promotion programs and plans.
- We refrain from providing information to tourists, either directly or through third parties, about locations where commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is coordinated or practiced.
- We refrain from directing tourists, either directly or through third parties, to establishments or places where the commercial sexual exploitation of children is practiced, nor from directing them to hotel rooms where the tourists are staying.
- We refrain from providing vehicles on tourist routes for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse of children and adolescents.
- We always prohibit children and adolescents from entering our hotels without their parents.
- We take all necessary measures to prevent our staff, suppliers, and clients from offering tourism services that allow sexual activity with children and adolescents.
- We protect national and foreign children and adolescents from all forms of sexual exploitation and violence caused by national and foreign tourists.
- We will report to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and other competent authorities any facts we become aware of, as well as any suspicions of these, related to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, and we ensure that there are channels within the company to report such facts to the competent authorities.
- We have designed and disseminated within the company and with our suppliers of goods and services a policy that establishes measures to prevent and counteract all forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in travel and tourism.
- We have trained all company personnel, as well as suppliers who, due to the nature of their activities, have contact with tourists, on the issue of preventing the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
- We inform our guests during check-in about the legal consequences of the sexual exploitation and abuse of children and adolescents in Colombia.
- This Code is posted in a visible, public location in each of our lodging and accommodation establishments.
